Schrodinger's Cancer

 Have you ever heard of Schrodinger's Cat?

I'll let Sheldon explain it "  ...In 1935, Erwin Schrodinger, in an attempt to explain the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum physics, he proposed an experiment where a cat is placed in a box with a sealed vial of poison that will break open at a random time. Now, since no-one knows when or if the poison has been released, until the box is opened, the cat can be thought of as both alive and dead."

Basically, it sums up how we are feeling about Stuart's cancer. Right now Stuart does and does not have cancer, and only time can tell us which is the correct reality. Unfortunately, we need to make some decisions before we know exactly what we are fighting against.

Let me back up a little first. Right now we are still waiting for Stuart's leg to heal. It's almost there, the huge hole has filled in and become leveled with his skin but there is still some..well...raw flesh, so when that goes away we can start radiation.

The decision we have to make is, how often do we have the scans that look for the possible cancer? The doctors recommend every 3 months however this could do some serious damage later in life because of all the radiation that it will put into Stuart's body so we will probably be doing scans every 6 months. Do you see the problem here? If Stuart does have cancer, we need to catch it as quickly as possible because it is a very aggressive and fatal cancer but if Stuart does not have cancer then the scans could possibly shorten his life for no reason! And even if we do the scans every three months and they catch it, there may still be nothing they can do! So would you pray for us? We know that no matter what our decision, God is in control of it all yet we still want to be wise.

In other news, Stuart is an amazing father! Oh my goodness, to see him with his little girl makes my heart so happy! He loves her so much and showers her with kisses, he takes her out for walks early in the morning so I can get some sleep, he reads her books every night, and loves to just hang out with her. I am so blessed to have him!
